Everybody knows about monopoly being the best game. But it also important to know about its history about how it came into existence. This game has been existing for quite a few many years. It can be said that with almost 480 millions of players the game of monopoly received most profitable sensation and success in the history of US. The history of the board game Monopoly has a controversy regarding the real inventor of the game.
It is definitely interesting to know the past of this unique game. It won’t be wrong to say that it is a collection of board games as the games history saw publication of various versions for many years. Earlier these games were played mostly on boards. Some say that the history leads back to over 4,000 years but some say it is for around 3,500 years. In Asia board games were quite liked among many. After traveling early Greece it made its way to Europe and finally to USA.
It is said that the earliest form of the game was most likely ‘The Landlord’s Game’. Though there was no copyright for the game, still in 1934 Charles Darrow who was born in Germantown, of Pennsylvania tried to sell it against profit to the ‘Parker Brothers’. But due to design errors it was rejected. But still he tried to sell it to department stores. Since what was the original version not known he started to sell it with different street names of the player’s residence.
Gradually the game attracted people’s attention and the popularity of the game increased. But sine huge offers started to pour in he could not put up with the orders. He then again went to the Parker Brothers and this time they could not refuse him. And this lead to the famous games success.
