Rules of the Monopoly game
The game of monopoly is a very popular board game among all the people of almost any age. It generally follows some standard rules but it can be customized according to the player’s choice.
This done only to make the game a much more interesting and fun loving. Some of the standard rules are described to make it easier for the first time players.
These rules are generally revolving around the purchase or dealing of material goods and also mortgage of those, report for becoming bankrupt, a choice of banker etc.
Various helps for purchase of houses, along with hotels; how to control the colors, and most important the secret of how the game can be won tactically is tried to be provided. These rules are generally made when three to four people are playing.
What are the tools needed?
A board having spaces which is to indicate the railways , utilities, avenues, prizes and punishments; tokens, title and deed cards, and representations of money of various values known as scrip.
How is the game prepared?
The cards of “Chance and Community Chest” are placed facing downwards as per the spaces allocated for them. Shoe, hat etc are given as tokens for representations along with $1500.Everything else is kept with the player who acts as the banker.
The game is to start:
The game is started by the banker and the dice is to be thrown by every player.
The one with highest total starts by placing on marked corner of “go”. Next two dice is thrown moving the token along arrow’s direction. The Next turn moves towards left.
Tokens remain on the covered place. More than one token at the same time can be kept at same place. A property becomes entitled to the player depending on the amount of space occupied.
He can also be entitled to give rent, recompense tax, visit jail, or can get “Chance or a Community Chest Card” drawing offer. With the token landing or passing ”go” while moving along direction of arrow a salary of $200 is received.
When any unowned property is landed upon the player has got a chance of buying it. Whereas if any unowned property is landed upon the player has to pay rent to the owner of the land.
The banker and the bank
A player who has a good capacity of auctioning goods can become a banker and even can play in the game. The banker has a bank which is actually a table placed at the elbow beside him.
Beside money it also carries the houses, hotels, and title deed cards before purchase. It has the responsibility to pay all prices that is obtained from the sale or purchase of properties or fines, interest, loan etc.
Other rules
The player can go to jail by falling under the mark or if he pulls “go to jail” or throws doubles consecutively for three times. After getting out of jail he can play but has to follow some conditions. The houses, hotels or the properties purchased can be mortgaged if necessary but only through bank.
